In a world of fast-paced technology, we bet on proven fundamentals. Our new 50mm dynamic driver, assembled and tuned with absolute precision, has allowed us to push the limits of speed, precision and dynamic range.

In order to achieve the acoustic goals we set for the 109 PRO, we focused our R&D efforts on materials research for each of the driver components.

The quest to maximize the headphones’ sonic capabilities began with the diaphragm, where we focused on finding the perfect balance between mass and stiffness.

The copper-zinc alloy stabilizer ring is tasked with improving shock absorption, where the choice of materials contributes to significant reductions in distortion.

Next to the two, is the light and efficient neodymium magnet and the copper coil. Together, they are encased in a high-precision CNC-machined aluminum frame, proven to be extremely reliable.

Constructed of carbon fiber reinforced cellulose composite material, the W-shaped dome is able to reproduce high frequencies with incredible detail, clarity and sharpness. More durable than conventional alternatives used in dynamic drivers, yet lightweight, this composite helps reduce resonances that can lead to harmonic distortion.

The ultra-thin body surrounding the dome is made of semi-crystalline beryllium-coated polymer, 22 microns thick. By applying the beryllium coating via physical vapor deposition (PVD), we aimed to increase the stiffness and durability of the driver while keeping it light enough to achieve fast transient response. These properties are also enhanced by the grooves in the torus, which are precisely carved at an angle of 45.5°.

The high damping properties of beryllium also help to suppress unwanted resonances, giving the 109 PRO its neutral, lively and transparent character.

The copper-zinc alloy stabilizer placed around the membrane improves shock absorption to further reduce distortion.

The diaphragm is enclosed in a high-precision aluminum frame, along with the neodymium magnet. CNC machined, the frame offers superior stiffness, strength and thermal stability to maintain surface flatness.

Through the open-back design, we wanted the 109 PRO to be alive and exciting, enabling the listener to connect with the music on a deeper level.

Carefully tuned by our in-house engineering team, it delivers emotionally compelling sound with exquisite detail, clarity and just the right amount of punch. Its organic character, combined with superior dynamics, excellent imaging and rich vocals bring the heart-pounding details to life. Plus, it’s easy to drive from most devices, whether we’re talking about portable sources or complex home setups.
The spider-shaped structure and acoustically transparent grill inside the earpiece expose the driver from both sides, creating the most open pattern yet. Following the principles of anthropometry, we positioned the driver at a precise angle and distance from the ear to achieve an ideal anatomical fit.109 professional design
109 pro designThe driver, positioned at a precise angle and distance from the ear, achieves the ideal anatomical fit for the most natural listening experience.

Plush cushions comfortably surround the ears, providing an optimal seal to create natural sound. As velvet is much softer and more breathable than leather, it also prevents sweat and overheating during long listening sessions.

109 professional design The self-adjusting headband spreads the weight to provide even pressure for any head shape and size.

The 109 PRO is all about comfort – from the structural design of the headphones to the choice of materials, all decisions were carefully made to ensure that the final product reaches the highest level of ergonomics. Once placed on your head, the headphones should become unnoticeable, leaving you with nothing but the music.

With this perspective in mind, we combined walnut wood, zinc, manganese steel and vegan leather into a comfortable, lightweight, yet extremely durable structure.

The black walnut wood we use for our headphones is strictly sourced with a certificate of origin, harvested from mature trees that have reached the end of their life cycle. In this way the environment is protected, leaving room for new life, while the old trees shine once more, in shape
