Dolby also imposes extremely strict requirements to ensure that the demanding multi-channel process can produce perfect reproduction. The dispersion characteristics and position of additional loudspeakers are important. A subwoofer with a built-in tweeter, a so-called coaxial driver, is the best choice here. The Cinema Ultra AEH 400-ATM is a coaxial with a 13 cm bass cone plus a 25 mm tweeter and fits perfectly, both in terms of appearance and installation depth, on top of an LCR 100-THX – where it also has to be in accordance with Dolby instructions. For those situations where home cinema enthusiasts prefer to mount the excellent sounding AEH 400-ATM on the wall or ceiling, rather than the frequency response optimized for ceiling reflection as specified by Dolby, we have included a second crossover for linear reproduction that can to be activated via a toggle switch.
