Whether you’re playing games, watching YouTube or listening to any streaming service – you can enjoy the right sound in optimal quality in no time because Bluetooth® (version 5.0) is integrated with aptx® Low Latency. The name reveals that the sound is played without any delay, which is especially important when watching movies and series.
All signals are simply transmitted from a TV to speakers via the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC), and the same goes for everything connected to the TV. Regardless of whether you are using a set-top box or a game console, once the corresponding input is selected on the TV, movies, series and games are played in full sound. And thanks to CEC, i.e. control over the HDMI port, you can easily control the volume using your TV remote control.

On the current topic of turntables: The built-in, high-quality voice preamp allows a turntable with an MM (MM stands for Moving Magnet) pickup, for example the MTT 990, to be connected directly to the speakers. There are also additional analog and digital inputs that allow any existing source to be connected to the display reference speakers. Signals with up to 24 bits and 192 kHz can be processed via the optical digital input. This means that music can also be played in high resolution quality.
PREMIUM TECHNOLOGY ON BOARD
Of course, the active loudspeakers of the Monitor Reference series are also equipped with our most tested components. Besides, we don’t want to make any compromises when it comes to sound. The proven 25 mm tweeter dome with its radiation-optimized sound has already been proven in various other series. Mid and low frequencies are reproduced by 125 or 170 mm speakers, with the larger model complemented by a 170 mm pure woofer. The low-resonance paper cones are driven by powerful, magnetic systems optimized to avoid distortion.
The amplifier, which is built into one speaker, operates with low distortion and highly efficient Class D technology to provide – depending on the model selected – between 25 and 60 watts of continuous power (RMS) and between 75 and 120 watts peak power – of course per channel. High-quality crossovers ensure the optimal balance between the individual chassis. Thanks to phase optimization, the sound emitted by all speakers reaches the listener at the same time. The supplied remote control allows you to easily select the desired input and volume. They can also be adjusted via the practical buttons on the back of the speaker.
ONE START – THREE SIZES
If we’ve made the decision super easy for you so far, you now have to choose between three different sizes. The Magnat Monitor Reference 2A is available in bookshelf speakers. The Reference 3A is another compact but even more powerful model, and the 5A offers the desired mix of materials in a floorstanding speaker. When it comes to color choice, the decision is easy as the REFERENCE series is only available in a classic black finish.
