The AE109 is designed to deliver effortless space-filling performance from a slim floorstanding speaker in much the same way that the world-acclaimed original AE109 did 20 years ago. To do this, two 110mm paper drivers using an ultra high power motor system are used in conjunction with a 25mm soft dome tweeter. The 2.5-way crossover features a unique topology that allows for power integration and handling previously not possible from this type of speaker. Particular attention has been paid to phase and time alignment for as coherent a performance as possible. Like the base AE100 speaker, the driver and crossover are housed in a substantial 18mm MDF cabinet that takes styling cues from the award-winning Reference range. The result is an audio product with clean and uncluttered lines that can still deliver the exciting and powerful presentation that Acoustic Energy owners have come to expect. Satin Black and Walnut vinyl finishes are available.
