Before September 2018, Audiolab’s benchmark was of course the iconic 8000A. In 2018, however, Audiolab made history again with the announcement of the 6000A, the most affordable model in the 40+ year history of the great British brand.
The 6000A earned five stars from What Hi-Fi?, Hi-Fi News Outstanding Product and Hi-Fi Choice Editor’s Choice awards, establishing it as a key model for thousands of new audiophiles entering the world of quality sound.
One Step Ahead in Every Sector
The 6000A MKII maintains its position as an accessible yet excellent step-up amplifier, ideal for entry-level audiophiles, with significant upgrades in sound and features. Visually, the MKII retains the look of its predecessor, offering seamless integration with the rest of the 6000, 7000 and 9000 series.
Main Improvements
Improved Power Supply and Transformer
The 6000A MKII uses an improved transformer and power supply, with increased voltage and reduced impedance for better control. The result is Audiolab’s signature sound — consistent, clean, dynamic and rhythmically accurate.
Advanced DAC Technology
The new ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M chipset replaces the previous ES9018, supporting 32-bit/768kHz PCM and incorporating HyperStream® II and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator for excellent dynamic range and minimal noise.
Extended Connectivity
4 S/PDIF inputs, HDMI ARC, and Bluetooth 5.1 aptX HD are included, making it ideal for modern AV systems.
Class AB – Audiolab Sound Heritage
With 50W per channel and top-notch linearity, the 6000A MKII stays true to Audiolab’s audiophile heritage, avoiding the trend of Class D amplifiers in this price range.
Signal Purity and Flexibility
The preamp section continues Audiolab’s philosophy of minimal circuitry, with RCA, phono stage MM and dedicated headphone amplifier.
Multiple Operating Modes
The 6000A MKII operates in Integrated, Pre, and Pre-Power modes, allowing flexible use even with AV processors or external preamplifiers.
